  • “The Umbrella Academy” season three is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
  • The series follows a family of superheroes trying to prevent the end of the world.
  • Netflix plans start at $10/month and go up to $20/month for 4K streaming.

After a two-year hiatus, “The Umbrella Academy” is back on Netflix with 10 new episodes. Season three began streaming on June 22.

Adapted from Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s comic book series of the same name, “The Umbrella Academy” follows a family of adopted superheroes who are brought back together after their father’s mysterious death. When one of the siblings returns from the future to report an impending apocalypse, the group must band together to stop it.

Season three picks up where the second season left off: After time traveling through the 1960s, the family ends up back in 2019, but in an alternate timeline. They find that the Umbrella Academy, where they were raised, is now called the Sparrow Academy, and their father is still alive.

“The Umbrella Academy” has a three-season average rating of “86% Fresh” on review-aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Early reviews of season three are positive, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a “92% fresh” rating.
