Apple 10.2-inch iPad 2021
Antonio Villas-Boas/Insider
The standard 10.2-inch iPad from 2021 is our top tablet choice for most people due to its excellent performance and its relatively affordable price tag. Right now, it’s down to $309, which is close to the all-time low of $300.
Apple iPad Air 2022
Isabel Fernandez Pujol/Insider
The 2022 iPad Air is just as powerful as the 2021 iPad Pro with a lower price tag. It offers a sharp screen, Touch ID, and 2nd-gen Apple Pencil support. It’s often discounted below its $600 retail price, but $559 is an especially good price to find one at.
Apple 11-inch iPad Pro 2021
Apple
The 2021 iPad Pros come equipped with a USB-C connector, optional 5G connectivity, and up to 2TB of storage. This deal takes $50 off the 11-inch iPad Pro’s price, which is a common discount. We’ve seen it go down to around $700 on occasion, so you could wait to get better pricing.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 2022
Antonio Villas-Boas/Insider
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 is the best Android tablet you can buy with a beautiful 11-inch screen, and it runs on the most powerful mobile processor of 2022, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Down to $580 for Prime Day, it’s a good deal. We’ve seen it go below that recently, however, if you want to wait for the chance to save a bit more.
Samsung is taking $300 off the Tab S8 if you have an old device to trade in. Just note that the trade-in value depends on the model and condition of your old device.
Galaxy Tab S8 Plus
Antonio Villas-Boas/Insider
The Galaxy Tab S8 Plus is a gorgeous, powerful, feature-rich tablet, but it’s expensive at $900. The $740 deal makes it much easier to justify buying the Tab S8 Plus if you’re looking for a large-screen tablet.
Samsung is taking $300 off the Tab S8 Plus if you have an old device to trade in, including an old tablet, a phone, or even a smartwatch. Just note that the trade-in value depends on the model and condition of your old device.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE (2021)
Amazon
The Galaxy Tab S7 FE has a large 12.4-inch screen and runs on a reliable, solid processor that can handle any app or game. It’s a more affordable option than the Galaxy Tab S8 series with few compromises. The $380 price is just about the best deal we’ve seen for this tablet so far.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite
Amazon
The Tab S6 Lite is an older model, but it’s still a well-priced all-around tablet that’s great for anyone familiar with Android. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better tablet under $250.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 2021
Amazon
The Tab A8 is a budget Android tablet with a large 10.5-inch display. It competes with Amazon’s own Fire tablets, and its main draw compared to Fire tablets is its access to the Google Play Store for a more comprehensive app library. At $180, it’s hard to pass up if you’re looking for something simple and affordable, especially with a large screen.
Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet (2020)
Amazon
Released in 2020, this edition of the affordable Fire HD 8 tablet offers many of the same features and streaming-friendly qualities as the later Fire 10 at an incredible value. You can buy this 32GB tablet now for $45 — a 50% discount.
Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Edition
Amazon
If you’re looking for something powerful enough to play games and video streams but can also withstand the wrath of children, the Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Edition tablet comes with a ruggedized case to keep it in working condition. Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus (2020)
Amazon
The Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus is the perfect affordable family tablet for streaming movies, casual gaming, and browsing the internet. It boasts a little extra performance from an extra GB of memory over the standard Fire HD 8. Strangely, the current $65 deal isn’t the best deal we’ve seen, which was $55 in late 2020. Still, $65 for this tablet is a great price.
Amazon Fire HD 10 (2021)
Antonio Villas-Boas/Insider
The newest Amazon Fire HD 10 (2021) is affordable, but it’s still powerful enough for watching movies and TV as well as running basic games. It’s currently discounted to only $75 for Amazon Prime Day, which is the lowest price we’ve seen for this model.
Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Edition (2021)
Amazon
The Kids Edition of the Fire HD 10 is identical to the normal version, but it comes with a hefty bumper case to protect the tablet. Combined with its price, and Amazon’s gold-standard parental controls and kids content, the Fire HD 10 Kids Edition is an ideal tablet for younger users.
Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021)
Amazon
This 10.1-inch tablet comes with wireless charging capabilities, making it easier than ever to use for streaming, video calling, and more. The Plus model boasts an extra GB of RAM for a slight boost in performance. This is the best price we’ve seen for this model so far.
