  • Pence’s legal team dismissed Trump’s allegations of voter fraud in a memo, Politico reported.
  • Most allegations of voter fraud, the memo said, were “relatively small in number, or cannot be verified.”
  • The 10-page memo noted some procedural violations, but no evidence of substantive fraud.

A memo by former Vice President Mike Pence’s legal team dismissed Donald Trump’s allegations of voter fraud, indicating there was no significant evidence to make such claims, Politico reported.

The 10-page memo, titled “Unlawful Election Conduct in Six States” and dated Jan. 1, 2021, summarizes alleged procedural violations of election laws and examines claims of election fraud in several states.

“In general, there is strong evidence that state and local election officials committed numerous procedural violations that reduced transparency and/or favored Democrat candidates,” Politico reported the memo said.

“However, most allegations of substantive voter fraud — defined to mean the casting of illegal ballots in violation of prevailing election laws — are either relatively small in number, or cannot be verified.”

The memo goes on to detail specific allegations of voter fraud in Michigan, Nevada and Arizona, but indicates no confirmation of such incidents, repeating the sentence: “Statistical experts identified numbers suggestive of the possibility of voter fraud, but these numbers cannot be verified.”

Trump once again repeated his false claims of voter fraud on Friday in response to televised hearings of the House special committee, which is investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

“So the Unselect Committee of political HACKS refuses to play any of the many positive witnesses and statements, refuses to talk of the Election Fraud and Irregularities that took place on a massive scale,” Trump wrote on Truth social. “Our Country is in such trouble!”
