Amazon Prime Day 2022 coming to a close but there are still lots of deals on Nintendo Switch products, including games, controllers, memory cards, and other accessories. Highlights include sales on Nintendo’s critically acclaimed exclusives, like games from the Super Mario and Pokemon franchises.

Prime members can get a free one-year subscription to Nintendo Switch Online (normally worth $20) when they buy Nintendo releases like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Pary Superstars, Mario Tennis Aces and Super Mario 3D World.

The Switch continues to compete with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in sales despite being several years older. Nintendo launched a new version of the console in October 2021, Switch OLED, with a larger, higher-quality screen but otherwise matching performance to the original model.

Nintendo continues to produce a great lineup of Switch-exclusive games too, with new titles like Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Kirby and the Forgotten Realm releasing earlier this year, and Splatoon 3 and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet scheduled to arrive this fall.

Best deals on Nintendo Switch consoles

So far, we haven’t spotted any deals for Nintendo’s Switch consoles themselves. It’s rare to find deals on Nintendo’s ultra-popular console, even during major sales events like Prime Day.

Best Prime Day Nintendo Switch Deals FAQs

Which Nintendo Switch console should I buy in 2022?

There are three different Nintendo Switch consoles: Switch OLED, Switch Lite, and the original Switch. We recommend buying the $350 Switch OLED, as it has the best screen quality of the three models and is only $50 more expensive than the regular Switch.

Switch OLED also has twice as much storage space with 64GB versus the standard model’s 32GB, and the OLED stand comes with a built-in ethernet port for a wired internet connection. That said, the standard $300 Switch still performs just fine if you want to take advantage of any Prime Day bundles.

The $200 Switch Lite has the most differences; it cannot be hooked up to a TV or monitor and it doesn’t come with removable Joy-Cons that become wireless controllers. This model is only a good fit for buyers who want to use the Switch as a portable console.

Is Prime Day the best time to buy a Nintendo Switch?

Nintendo rarely offers discounts on Switch consoles, but Amazon Prime Day is a good opportunity to pick up a discounted console bundle if you’re alright with an older Switch model.

Prime Day is also a great time to snag games and accessories for low prices.

What size memory card should I buy for the Switch?

Because the standard Switch only has 32GB of built-in memory, we definitely recommend picking up a MicroSD card of at least 128GB. Switch games can take up anywhere from 1GB to 40 GB, and the largest possible memory card is 2TB.
